Dollar store rustic wrapping with book pages

Happy Monday, y'all!

I just wanted to share a pretty little present I wrapped up at a creative wrapping presentation here in town.

So, I have been slightly obsessed with old book pages since I found a few old German books at a flea market a couple years ago. I cut up some of the pages and used them in a giant mural my one semester as an art student. I'm always looking for ideas to use book pages in decorating, so I hit the jackpot when I ran across this post by The Nester on Pinterest.

She threw a "book party" and for under $30, turned their home into an Anthropolie-esque wonderland. It was absolutely gorgeous. This one is my favorite.

Isn't that lovely! Anyhow, I decided to follow suite in the thrifty department and did my entire presentation using everything Dollar Store. I got giant books and ripped out the pages ( I mean, if they're at the Dollar Store, they can't possibly be worth reading, so I didn't feel so bad.) I also bought dictionaries and a thesaurus, doilies, jute and kraft paper, and feathers, and this is what I came up with:

I just love the layers of texture.  I chose the page for "love" but you could chose any word that describes your recipient.

Why shouldn't the wrapping be as special as the gift? If you have any wrapping ideas, feel free to share!

xoxo- Kayli
